Automotive & Fleet Facilities
Automotive service centers and fleet maintenance facility construction.
Automotive and fleet facilities support vehicle service, maintenance, and storage operations throughout the DFW Metroplex. From quick lube shops to heavy truck service centers, these buildings require specialized design for vehicle movement, lift equipment, parts storage, and environmental compliance. We build facilities that keep fleets operational.
Service bay design determines facility capacity and efficiency. Bay sizes must accommodate your vehicle mix: different requirements for passenger cars versus box trucks versus tractor trailers. Lift systems, pit design, or flat floor approach affect building construction significantly.
Environmental systems manage the fluids, fumes, and waste inherent in vehicle service. Oil-water separators, floor drains, exhaust extraction, and hazmat storage require careful design and construction. We build facilities that meet environmental requirements and keep operations clean.
Parts storage and shop areas support service operations. Parts rooms with racking, tool storage, and equipment areas need appropriate power and utilities. Office space for dispatching, management, and customer service integrates with the service operation.

Frequently Asked Questions
What bay sizes do you recommend?
Bay sizes depend on your vehicle mix. Passenger car bays are typically 12-14 feet wide by 24-28 feet deep. Truck bays may be 14-16 feet wide by 40-60 feet deep or more. Trailer servicing may require 80-foot bays. We design based on your specific fleet composition.
In-ground lifts or above-ground?
Both work. In-ground lifts provide clear floor space and work well for heavy vehicles. Above-ground lifts are less expensive and easier to relocate. The choice depends on vehicle types, ceiling height, and operational preferences. Most facilities use a combination.
What floor systems work in service bays?
Service bay floors need chemical resistance for oil and fluids, good drainage, and durability for vehicle traffic. We install reinforced concrete with appropriate slopes to drains, often with epoxy or urethane coatings for chemical resistance and cleanability.
How do you handle exhaust extraction?
Vehicle exhaust during service must be captured and vented. Options include tailpipe drops, hose reels, or overhead extraction systems. We coordinate with mechanical contractors on systems appropriate for your vehicle types and service operations.
What environmental permits are required?
Fleet service facilities typically require permits for floor drains, oil-water separators, and sometimes air quality depending on operations like painting. We identify permit requirements during project development and ensure facilities are designed for compliance.
